We left at 6:15 pm on August 31st.   We landed at 9:45am on Sept. 1.   Needless to say it was a long flight.  The kids slept great.  Their parents, not so much.

When arrived in Rome, they drove us to Arezzo.   The accadamia provided us lunch and it gave the kids a great chance to run around and meet some of the students that are studying here (all American).

They just couldn't keep their eyes open any longer.

We gave the kids little digital cameras.  Maya needs to work on not covering her lens!

Afer a semi-decent night's rest, we headed outside to watch the annual joust.   I believe this ceremony is announcing the beginning of the joust.

This is the duomo, which is about 30 steps from our apartment.

All of the participants in the joust marched right past our window.

Sitting outside the entrance to our apartment watching the parade.

The blessing of the horses.

View from the accadamia.   You can see the duomo off to the left.
